It’s time for some light relief from the world of work and daily stress, so join us for a festive gathering at THE LYINC! Laughter is always in plentiful supply at the now famous FIBA Christmas lunch where you are actively encouraged to wear the worst Christmas jumpers you can find, and become highly competitive during the quiz. Get ready to indulge in a delicious two course Christmas feast including luxury crackers followed by coffee and mince pies whilst competing with your team members at the table to win prizes and surprises! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with our members and spread festive cheer. There will be, as always, a raffle for quality products from craft brewers, organic grocers and other sponsors. The profits from the raffle will go to a local charity for the homeless in Lyon.

We will hold our AGM at 11.30 followed by a lunch at 12.15 where our speaker will be the Irish Consul Ciara de Mora. There will also be a book signing with the author Cate (Sara) Green. On Friday 20th October at the Hard Rock Café we’ll be following the rugby semi-final live broadcast with a special rugby menu from 7.30pm onwards. We have a table booked and when you sign up please choose what you’d like to eat from the menu in the link below because this must be ordered in advance. Drinks can be ordered on the night and paid for separately. As the venue is expecting a crowd on 20th we need to close the booking 3 days before so please sign up quickly if you’d like to join us for this event !

The FIBA Golf Trophy will be held in conjunction with The LYINC on Friday 20th October at La Tour Salvagny. Tickets which include the green fee and lunch can be purchased on the day but you must register beforehand.  If you are a beginner and would still like to participate there may be an initiation course organised for a small group. Please contact us here, if you’re interested.

On Friday 22nd September from 6-8pm, FIBA members and friends will be enjoying a beer at Epicerie PATATE (53 Quai Pierre Scize) and on this occasion there will be a prize draw for seats at the New Zealand v Italy match at the Groupama stadium on the 29th Sept.

You can purchase tickets for the prize draw on line here. The seats are worth 216€ each as well as being a superb chance to savour the atmosphere of the rugby world club where the All Blacks will battling for their place in the semi final.
